Become the Media

This year I went to Bloggercon at Stanford. My main mission: Attend the Podcasting session led by Adam Curry and walk away with at least one audio interview. Well, good thing I decided to take a breather after the session and eat an apple. That's when Adam Curry walked by. I grabbed my mini disc, plugged in the microphone and donned my headphones. Adam was kind enough to record a lead in for [iceplant radio](http://www.iceplant.org/ "iceplant radio") and I recorded our conversation. I must say that I like [Microsoft's new search engine](http://beta.search.msn.com/ "MSN Search"). Radio: The Missing Manual is the second entry listed using the search words, ["radio userland manual"](http://beta.search.msn.com/results.aspx?FORM=SRCHWB&q=radio%20userland%20manual "MSN Search").

So they don't get lost in the weblog shuffle, I started a [Tips](http://www.becomethemedia.org/radio/outlines/tips/ "Radio UserLand Tips") section on this site. I'll try to do a tip each week. Radio gurus, want to get your tip published? Let's talk! I can't pay but you'll get your tip published on Radio: The Missing Manual for all to read.

After I download and mix in a song, I'll be releasing my short interview with Adam and Dave from Bloggercon. I want to mix in a Creative Commons licensed song by either David Byrne or Thievery Corporation but I don't have the latest [Wired CD]("http://creativecommons.org/wired/" "Wired CD"). The CC site says that after the 9th, they'll have high quality versions available for download but they aren't ready yet so I'm grabbing them off of LimeWire. Stay tuned...

Listen to the Bloggercon podcasting session audio recording. You'll hear yours truly asking the first question about how to get radio stations on board. You see, I want to transform the way [Making Contact](http://www.radioproject.org "Making Contact") is distributed, and cut out the CD mailing process.

Looks like rain today. Maybe. Maybe not. I never can tell until the drops start to fall. Here's watts up with me right now.

I interviewed [Adam Curry](http://live.curry.com "Adam Curry") and [Dave Winer](http://www.scripting.com "Dave Winer"). Be on the lookout for a new podcast of [iceplant radio](http://www.iceplant.org "iceplant radio") soon to hear it.

I'm working on getting out a special edition of E-Current this morning. CORAL is encouraging [E-Current](http://www.coralreefalliance.org/ecurrent/ "E-Current") subscribers to fill out a survey so they can better understand their audience. There's a drawing too so you might want to get on the email list if you want a chance to win.

My man, Adam Curry is leading the current session on podcasting. This is why I came here.

At breakfast I met Sylvia Paull, and we talked about naming conventions in Denmark. She says one can't name their child with a "weird" name or else the rest of the community can protest.

Sylvia knows Dave Winer from way back when and she's quite an interesting person. She invited me to a weekly tech salon in Berkeley and I can't wait to attend, starting next week. She also helped with the food here and I must say, the muffins were great.

At the end of the first session we all sang 'This Land is Your Land' together. Very cool!
